Update for Ostbahnhof

Munich. The continuation of the construction at Ostbahnhof will cause restrictions for the railway system till the 21st of July. After the modernization, the train station will grant barrier-free access to all platforms.

Platforms 1 to 6 at Ostbahnhof are already barrier-free and have been made accessible with lifts. The work on platforms 7 to 14 is starting now. Lifts will be integrated, platforms and roofs updated as well as modernization of the sound system and lighting. Overall the upgrading of the train station will cost 13 million Euro. Initially the new construction of the platform edge will take place on platform 11. The eastern staircase will be blocked until the 21st of July for the construction of the lift shaft. Restrictions of the railway system and increased dirt and noise generation will occur during this period.
