Kempten/Oberstdorf. A snowboarder died in an accident at the ski resort of Fellhornbahn in Oberstdorf. The 38-year-old was snow-boarding away from the designated area and after falling he got stuck upside down in the snow and suffocated, the Police in Schwaben South/West in Kempten announced on Tuesday.
The man was buried up to his ankles in the snow and could not free himself, reports Muenchener Merkur. According to the police he died from a lack of oxygen. The attempts of the Ski Rescue Brigade were in vain. The cause of the accident and also how long the man was stuck in the snow remain unexplained.
