Munich. The sell-off of the Karstadt store has begun. During the insolvency, the company and union negotiate the future of nearly 100 employees, and the store is separated from its goods. The shelves should be emptied by 31st of March. Then, according to current planning, the store will be closed. The sell-off action will proceed floor by floor and will intensify to mid-March, reported the Karstadt CEO deputy Alfred Ament to Die Tageszeitung newspaper. The sale began from the fourth floor with consumer electronics, then next came lights, calendar and table linen. Materials, curtains and home accessories are next on the plan. Whatever goods are left would be stored by the Oberpollinger house which is directly opposite Karstadt and all which has found no room at Oberpollinger would be sold at bargain prices during the sell-off.
