Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The community of Garmisch-Partenkirchen will become Bavarias first role model for electric mobility. The council of ministers hope that this will also benefit Bavarias application for the Olympics 2018.

"I'm very confident that we can fulfill the request", says minister Horst Seehofer (CSU): "I do what I can." An official cabinet decision is not yet present, but the ministers agreed informally with Garmisch Partenkirchen. "It can be safely assumed", confirms minister of state Siegfried Schneider (CSU): "This will benefit our application for the Winter Olympics as well."

200 town councils all around Bavaria applied for the title of 'role model commune' and the related aid money. Almost 40 representatives suggested their hometown.

Penzberg, Schongau, Grafing and Gröbenzell competed in Oberbayern for the title, but a lot of community's still did not hand in their application - which would be invalid by now.

The government currently debates about another role model commune due to the amount of applications, but this time the north of Bavaria will have an advantage.
