Munich. A 69 year old man was rescued from his flat in Haidhausen, after almost starving himself to death. He claims he did not have money to buy food.
According to police, the property management of a block of flats, in which the pensioner lives, called the officers after the 69 year old hadn't paid his rent since february. The employees explained that this was unusual for the old man who always pays the rent on time. Besides, it has not been possible to contact him for months and his mailbox wasn't emptied for weeks.
The police opened the door to his flat and found the 69 year old emaciated, lying on a matress on the floor together with a large amount of rubbish. The man was just "skin and bones", stated the police.
The 69 year old reported that he hasn't eaten for weeks because he had no money to buy food. He did not want to go to the hospital because "no one cares about him anyway".
Because of the bad state of the 69 year old, officers brought him to hospital; he had to be lifted out of the house through the window as he had a bad wound on his leg and was not able to walk.
