Former tennis champion Boris Becker has penned a memoir detailing his time spent in a British prison, which he describes as one of the most challenging periods of his life. The book, titled Inside. Winning - Losing - Starting Anew, is set to be published on September 10, 2025, by Ullstein Verlag.

Becker, a three-time Wimbledon winner, served approximately eight months of a two-and-a-half-year sentence for financial offenses, including the concealment of significant assets during bankruptcy proceedings. He has openly stated that the experience was profoundly painful, leaving lasting psychological scars, including recurring nightmares.

In his memoir, Becker reflects on the harsh realities of prison life, including encounters with violent offenders. While some inmates posed a threat, he also found allies who offered him protection during his incarceration. Becker expressed that writing this book has been a therapeutic endeavor, allowing him to confront and process his experiences.

After being sentenced in April 2022, Becker was released early in December of the same year due to special provisions for foreign prisoners. His time in detention was a stark contrast to his previous life as a celebrated sports figure, raising questions about the pressures and responsibilities that come with fame.

Beyond his literary pursuits, Becker has recently made headlines for his personal life, having remarried for the third time. He wed Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro in a ceremony held in Portofino, Italy, last year, marking a new chapter in his life.

As Becker prepares to share his story with the world, the upcoming memoir is anticipated to provide insights not only into his time behind bars but also into the broader themes of resilience and redemption.
