Theft Spree in Maschen: Shoes and Car Items Stolen

In the early hours of February 10, 2025, a series of thefts occurred in Maschen, where perpetrators targeted sports shoes and items from unlocked vehicles. The incident took place on Hamburger Straße, where several pairs of shoes were stolen from outside a residence. Surveillance footage captured two men, estimated to be around 40 years old, dressed in dark clothing and wearing hats, committing the theft at approximately 3:20 AM.

The police believe these individuals may also be linked to a wider pattern of car break-ins reported in various local streets, including Haulandsweg, Seevestraße, Gutenbergstraße, Milchberg, Im Stuck, and Wiesenweg. A total of seven unlocked cars were accessed, resulting in the theft of cash and sunglasses.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activities during the night to contact the Seevetal Police at 04105 6200.

In a separate incident in Buchholz, thieves broke into a single-family home on Drögenhorst street on the afternoon of February 10, between 3:40 PM and 6:20 PM. The culprits forced open a rear door and rummaged through several cabinets. The value of the stolen items is currently unknown.

Another break-in was reported in Tostedt, where intruders targeted a single-family house on Quittenweg between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM. The suspects accessed the property by climbing over a heat pump to reach the roof of a carport, from which they pried open an upstairs window and stole cash from the premises.

The Central Criminal Investigation Department is seeking witnesses for both burglary cases who may have seen any suspicious persons or vehicles. Tips can be provided to Tostedt Police by calling 04181 2850.

Furthermore, between February 7 and February 10, 2025, thieves broke into a van parked on Bremer Straße, near Buxtehuder Straße. They forcibly opened the lock of a Renault Master, making off with tools valued at several thousand euros. The Tostedt Police are also accepting information related to this incident at 04182 404270.

In a traffic-related incident on February 10, an 83-year-old woman caused an accident on Schierhorner Straße at approximately 7:50 AM. She veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a Volkswagen driven by a 56-year-old man. The driver of the Skoda sustained minor injuries, and both vehicles were subsequently towed from the scene. The total damage from the crash is estimated at around 30,000 euros.
