In a shocking incident in Heldrungen, Thüringen, the owner of a BMW X6 M faced a distressing discovery when a passerby found the luxury vehicle stripped of its essential parts. The car, valued at approximately EUR60,000, was left as a mere shell, with wheels, seats, and headlights all taken by thieves.

The police are investigating the theft, which they believe occurred between Monday evening and Tuesday morning. According to authorities, the vehicle was parked in the lot of a former supermarket on Thomas-Müntzer-Straße when the crime took place. It appears that the thieves were well-acquainted with the car model, as they managed to remove the components without causing excessive damage.

In addition to the removal of significant car parts, the thieves also took a smartphone and a pair of high-end sunglasses from inside the vehicle. The estimated damage from the theft amounts to around EUR20,000.

Police officials noted that the method used to break into the vehicle remains unclear, but they are diligently collecting evidence from the scene. Forensic investigators from the Kriminalpolizei Nordhausen have begun the process of analyzing the vehicle to gain insights into the crime and potentially identify the culprits.

The police have issued a call for witnesses, emphasizing that anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area during the time frame of the theft should come forward. They are particularly interested in any information regarding the transportation of the stolen vehicle parts, as these would have needed to be removed from the scene.

As the investigation continues, law enforcement is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any unusual activities that could assist in solving this case. Community awareness can play a crucial role in preventing future incidents of similar nature.
