Call for Social Media Ambassadors to Promote Pharmaceutical Services

Thu 3rd Apr, 2025

The ABDA (Federal Union of German Associations of Pharmacists) is actively seeking aspiring pharmacists who are enthusiastic about promoting pharmaceutical services through contributions on social media channels. In a recent announcement, the organization highlighted the initiative aimed at engaging the pharmaceutical community in sharing insights and experiences related to the implementation of pharmaceutical services (pDL) in practice.

Since 2023, the ABDA has been utilizing its social media platforms to showcase photos and videos featuring pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from public pharmacies demonstrating how pDL is integrated into their daily operations, alongside practical tips for implementation.

To further inspire the next generation of pharmacists, the ABDA is inviting pharmacy interns (PhiP) to create and share content that will facilitate the search for training pharmacies offering pDL services as well as ease their transition into professional practice. This initiative encourages the sharing of personal narratives regarding the execution of these services, providing ample opportunity for creative expression and innovative ideas.

Prospective ambassadors are encouraged to document their experiences within pharmacies that provide pDL services, offering insights into how these services are put into practice, the roles they undertake, and the value these services provide to patients.

In addition to participating during their practical training year, ambassadors are expected to remain active on social media beyond this period, sharing their experiences in initiating their careers within pharmacies that offer pDL.

To equip participants with the necessary skills for video content creation, the ABDA is offering training sessions, along with compensation for the contributions made. Those interested in advancing the narrative surrounding pharmaceutical services through social media are invited to reach out to the ABDA's pDL team via the provided email address.

Moreover, individuals who wish to stay informed about developments in pDL can subscribe to the Pharmaceutical Care Network, which provides regular updates, including links and information on conferences, pDL-related news, and educational resources.
