Smoke in the air

On Saturday 28th July, whilst flying over Munich, a Boeing 737 aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing after smoke was detected on board the aircraft.
Landing at Munich Airport was not possible, so the aeroplane touched down in Linz shortly after 4 pm.

"The 263 passengers, a baby and the nine crew members were able to exit the aircraft normally," said Ingo Hagedorn, marketing director of Linz Airport according to nachrichten.at . "There was no reason to panic". There were no injuries to the passengers or crew.

The cause of the smoke has not yet been determined. According to the Münchner Merkur, Hagedorn reported that although a weather radar was malfunctioning, this has now been repaired.
