Change in Leadership at Shop Apotheke as CFO Resigns

Sat 27th Sep, 2025
In a significant shift for the online pharmacy giant Shop Apotheke, the Chief Financial Officer, Eenhorst, has stepped down from his position. Having served as CFO since 2020, Eenhorst previously held a prominent role at the Dutch retail chain Albert Heijn. His departure from the board takes effect immediately, although he will remain with the company until the end of the year to facilitate a smooth transition to his successor. The identity of the new CFO has yet to be determined. The company's supervisory board has already initiated the search for a suitable candidate and anticipates a resolution in the near future. In the interim, Olaf Heinrich, the CEO of Redcare, will temporarily assume the responsibilities of the CFO. The board of directors includes other members such as Theresa Holler (Chief Operating Officer), Dirk Brüse (Chief Commercial Officer), and Lode Fastré (Chief Information Officer). Björn Söder, the chairman of the supervisory board, expressed gratitude to Eenhorst for his contributions, notably his integral role in several successful capital market transactions, including the placement of EUR300 million in unsecured convertible bonds last April. This achievement has played a pivotal role in the company's financial strategy. As Shop Apotheke continues to navigate the evolving landscape of online pharmacy services, the transition in financial leadership comes at a critical time. The company, which operates as Redcare, is recognized as Germany's leading online pharmacy, and the new CFO will be tasked with steering its financial operations amid growing competition and market demands. The company's focus remains on enhancing its service offerings and expanding its market presence, which will be essential for maintaining its competitive edge in the fast-growing e-pharmacy sector. As the search for a new CFO progresses, stakeholders will be keenly observing how the leadership changes will influence Shop Apotheke's strategic direction and overall performance in the coming months.
