Sean Combs, the renowned former rap artist, has requested a postponement of his upcoming court trial in light of new allegations related to sexual crimes, according to various media reports. Just weeks before the trial was set to commence on May 5, Combs' legal team submitted a motion to the New York district court on Wednesday, seeking a two-month delay to adequately prepare his defense against the newly added charges.

The rapper, who has been in custody since mid-September, faces serious accusations from prosecutors that include human trafficking, organized crime, and other offenses. Recent developments have introduced two additional charges alleging that Combs forced individuals into sex trafficking between the years 2021 and 2024, expanding the scope of the original allegations that were confined to the period from 2009 to 2018.

As detailed in the updated indictment, Combs is accused of bringing individuals from abroad and across state lines into the United States for the purpose of prostitution. These new allegations could potentially lead to more severe penalties if Combs is found guilty.

In addition to facing criminal charges, Combs is also contending with multiple civil lawsuits related to sexual misconduct. A law firm based in Houston has announced representation for 120 individuals who have made allegations against him.

Sean Combs, who is 55 years old, has enjoyed a successful career with hit songs such as 'I'll Be Missing You' and 'Bad Boy For Life.' Over the decades, he has been known by various stage names including 'Puff Daddy,' 'P. Diddy,' and 'Diddy.'
