In a shocking event at Peter-Schöllhorn-Mittelschule in Neu-Ulm, a 13-year-old student allegedly strangled a fellow classmate of the same age until he lost consciousness. The incident occurred after regular class hours while students were in the music room. According to a police spokesperson, the incident unfolded as a teacher was assisting 18 students in putting away musical instruments. One student purportedly placed his classmate in a chokehold. When the teacher became aware of the situation, she immediately instructed the student to stop. However, by the time he complied, the victim had already collapsed and was unresponsive. Emergency services were called to the scene when it became clear the injured student was not regaining consciousness. He was subsequently transported to a pediatric hospital where he is currently recovering and has regained the ability to communicate, although he remains under medical observation. The school's administration has informed the parents of both students involved. The alleged perpetrator was taken into custody at the Neu-Ulm police station in the presence of his mother. He is facing charges of dangerous bodily injury due to the severity of the situation. However, due to his age, he is considered legally incapable of being prosecuted. Authorities have not yet been able to question the victim, and details regarding the motive behind this distressing act remain unclear. The student accused of the assault has been suspended from attending classes as a result of his actions.
