Bus Collision in Sauerland Involves Five Cars, Multiple Injuries Reported

A serious traffic incident occurred in Sauerland when a bus collided with five vehicles, resulting in significant injuries. The accident took place in Hemer, where the bus crashed into a tree, veered across the road, and struck both parked and moving cars before finally coming to a halt after approximately 200 meters, hitting a disused building.

Authorities reported a total of 13 individuals injured in the crash. One person is currently in critical condition while another is fighting for their life. The bus driver, a 62-year-old man, and a 19-year-old female passenger sustained severe injuries and were transported to hospitals via air ambulances. Initial reports indicated two individuals were in life-threatening situations.

In addition to the most critically injured, eight others suffered serious injuries and received medical attention at local hospitals. Among the injured were two children and a teenager, although their specific conditions were not immediately clear.

The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation. Preliminary findings suggest the bus driver lost control, causing the vehicle to collide with a tree before impacting several other cars. One of the parked cars was pushed into the front of a nearby pizzeria, illustrating the severity of the collision.

The police have emphasized the need for a thorough examination and reconstruction of the accident to determine the exact sequence of events. Emergency services worked diligently at the scene to assist the injured and clear the wreckage.

Traffic in the area was severely impacted following the incident as emergency responders managed the situation and conducted their investigations. Authorities are urging any witnesses to come forward with information that could aid in understanding how this accident occurred.
