Samsung Delays Launch of Galaxy S25 Edge

Samsung appears to be postponing the launch of its highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Edge, which was originally scheduled for mid-April. Reports from South Korea suggest that the unveiling may now take place in May or June instead.

The reasons for this delay remain varied. According to ETNews, the postponement may stem from the recent passing of Samsung's CEO, which has led to significant changes within the company's leadership. Meanwhile, other sources have indicated potential issues related to the device's battery, a critical area for Samsung following the infamous Galaxy Note 7 crisis in 2016.

Regardless of the cause, it seems that the Galaxy S25 Edge will not debut with the customary glitz of an Unpacked event, but rather through an online presentation. Pricing for the device is expected to remain unaffected, with estimates suggesting a retail price exceeding EUR1200 in Germany.

During its initial showcase at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, the Galaxy S25 Edge was presented as an impressively slim smartphone, measuring less than six millimeters in thickness. However, attendees were not allowed to physically interact with the device, leaving many details under wraps. The specifications that have been confirmed include a 6.7-inch display and the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which also drives the other models in the S25 series. The camera setup consists of two rear cameras: a primary lens accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle lens, while the design limits space for a telephoto lens or a periscope-style attachment.
