Racist Attack at Dessau Train Station Under Investigation

Dessau - A man was subjected to racist insults and an assault at the Dessau train station on the evening of January 23, 2025. The incident reportedly occurred around 8:15 PM on platforms 2 and 3. The victim had just arrived on a regional express train from Magdeburg, disembarking at 8:09 PM, when he encountered two suspects.

Witnesses claim that the suspects began to verbally abuse the man due to his dark skin color, followed by physical aggression as they shoved him. Other passengers and bystanders attempted to de-escalate the situation. However, before officers from the federal police could arrive, the victim left the scene in an unknown direction.

Afterward, the two suspects, aged 27 and 40, reportedly directed verbal abuse towards the intervening travelers and the responding police officers. As a result, both individuals are facing charges for insults and bodily harm.

The federal police are currently seeking the victim and any additional witnesses.
