Nassau, Bahamas - A new private island designed specifically for cruise passengers is nearing completion, offering a luxurious getaway in the heart of the Caribbean. The island, named Celebration Key, is located in the northern Bahamas and is developed by the renowned Carnival Cruise Line, with its grand opening slated for July 19, 2025. The initial visit by cruise travelers will be aboard the Carnival Vista.

As travelers step off their cruise ships, they will be greeted by stunning turquoise waters and a picturesque wooden walkway leading to a pristine golden beach. The island is designed to provide an array of attractions, including an impressive water slide that spirals between two freshwater pools, catering primarily to younger visitors.

Celebration Key is set to become a premier destination for cruise enthusiasts, with an estimated investment of approximately EUR572 million. The island's amenities include a dedicated children's area featuring the waterslide, the 'Starfish Lagoon' for sports activities, and an exclusive adult-only Beach Club, complete with daybeds, private loungers, and luxurious villas. Additionally, there will be a lagoon that features a swim-up bar for guests to enjoy.

For those looking to engage with local culture, the island will host Lokono Cove, a marketplace that celebrates Bahamian heritage through local arts and handcrafted goods. This initiative aims to provide visitors with a unique shopping experience while supporting the local economy.

One of the most remarkable features of Celebration Key is its extensive freshwater lagoon, touted as the largest in the Caribbean. This lagoon, along with two others on the island, will be replenished through a seawater desalination system, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to the island's water management.

In alignment with its commitment to sustainability, the developers of Celebration Key have implemented a 'Plant a Tree' initiative, planting over 1,000 palm trees on the island to enhance its natural beauty and ecological footprint.

Celebration Key is anticipated to be a key stop on more than 500 cruise itineraries, with a fleet of 20 ships departing from ten different home ports across the United States. This new destination is expected to significantly enhance the cruise experience for travelers, providing them with an exclusive and luxurious retreat during their voyages.
