Police Divers Search for Knife After Stabbing Incident in Kiel

Kiel - Authorities are currently searching for the weapon used in a recent stabbing incident involving a 13-year-old boy, Finn Lukas L., in the German city of Kiel. Following the attack, police divers are combing the Hörnbecken area of the harbor in Schleswig-Holstein's capital in hopes of recovering the knife. The police have stated that the search area will be extensive to ensure all possible evidence is collected.

The investigation is being handled by the homicide division, which is actively seeking witnesses to assist in clarifying the details surrounding the event. The incident occurred on January 19, when police apprehended seven young individuals aged between 14 and 22 in connection with the violent act. Among them, two 18-year-olds were placed in pre-trial detention by the Kiel District Court, while the remaining five suspects were released under specific conditions.

According to reports, one of the detained 18-year-olds is believed to have inflicted the stab wound on Finn Lukas. The attack happened after the group lured the boy from his residential group home in the Gaarden district. A confrontation ensued on the playground of the Christian School Kiel (CSK), where it is alleged that the suspects initially assaulted Finn Lukas before one of them stabbed him.

Finn Lukas suffered severe injuries, including a stab wound to the heart that reportedly impacted a heart valve. Responding officers were required to perform life-saving measures on the young boy, who narrowly survived the attack and had to undergo emergency surgery. The assailants fled the scene initially but were subsequently identified and apprehended by law enforcement.
