Döbeln, Saxony - Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation following the discovery of a body in the vicinity of a waterworks in the Döbeln district. The remains were found early in the morning, around 6:30 AM, in the Limmritz area, prompting immediate police action after a witness alerted emergency services.
According to reports, the body was located in a water channel of the Zschopau River, close to the local waterworks. A spokesperson from the Chemnitz police confirmed the find but provided limited details regarding the circumstances surrounding it.
The police have initiated a comprehensive search of the area surrounding the waterworks. As of now, the identity of the deceased remains unclear, and there has been no confirmation on whether the remains belong to a male or female. The authorities have yet to disclose specifics about the conditions under which the body was found.
While the police have not ruled out foul play, they have stated that no immediate evidence of a crime has been uncovered. Investigators are awaiting the results of forensic examinations, which will help determine if external factors contributed to the individual's death.
The search and investigation efforts continued throughout the morning, involving multiple police units who scoured the area around the Mühlgraben, looking for any additional clues or evidence.
