Authorities in Berlin have launched a major investigation following two separate incidents that left two men with severe injuries in and around Hasenheide Park. The police were alerted on Monday evening after reports of violence in the Neukölln district, drawing an immediate emergency response to the scene.
According to official statements, the first victim was discovered within the park with serious wounds requiring urgent surgical intervention. This individual's condition remains life-threatening. Shortly after, a second man was found injured outside a nearby fast-food establishment on Hermannstraße, having suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso and leg. Medical teams rushed both men to local hospitals, where they continue to receive critical care.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the two victims may have been involved in the same altercation, though the exact sequence of events remains under review. Witness accounts indicate that, around 7:00 p.m., a confrontation occurred near the park's entrance at Lucy-Lameck-Straße. Observers reported seeing a man from a group making stabbing motions toward a 60-year-old individual, who was accompanied by another group. The suspected assailant and his associates reportedly fled the area before law enforcement arrived.
Approximately twenty minutes later, officers encountered the second victim, a 48-year-old man, exhibiting fresh stab wounds. Witnesses indicated that he approached from the direction of Hasenheide Park. His current health status is described as critical, despite prompt medical intervention.
The 7th Homicide Division of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office has assumed responsibility for the investigation, acting on behalf of the public prosecutor's office. Detectives are currently working to establish any direct connection between the two attacks. They are reviewing available evidence and appealing to the public for any information, photographs, or videos that could aid in clarifying the circumstances of the incidents.
The Hasenheide Park area has experienced repeated violent events in recent months. Just weeks earlier, authorities responded to an attempted homicide in the vicinity, and reports of gunfire prompted police operations at the beginning of May. The latest incidents have renewed concerns regarding safety and security in the area.
Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with relevant details or digital evidence relating to the events in Hasenheide Park on Monday evening to come forward. Information can be submitted via telephone, email, or directly to any Berlin police station. Confidential reporting channels are also available for those wishing to remain anonymous.
Police patrols in and around Hasenheide Park have been increased as the investigation continues. Authorities emphasize their commitment to thoroughly examining the case and ensuring the safety of the local community. Further updates will be provided as the inquiry progresses and more information becomes available.
