Riesa, Saxony - A shocking discovery of two bodies in a manure pit has prompted an investigation by local authorities, leading them to explore connections in a neighboring village.

The grim find occurred on a Monday evening in Spansberg, near Riesa, when a worker attempting to pump out the manure stumbled upon two lifeless bodies submerged in the foul sludge. In response to this disturbing incident, the homicide unit has initiated a thorough investigation. The deceased individuals, identified as a man and a woman, are currently undergoing autopsies at the forensic department of the Technical University of Dresden.

Despite the shocking nature of the discovery, residents of Spansberg have reported that no one is currently missing from their community. However, just one kilometer away in the neighboring village of Nauwalde, there are indeed two individuals who have reportedly been missing for several months. According to local sources, the missing persons are an older, unmarried couple. A neighbor recounted seeing them last between Christmas and New Year's, after which they seemingly vanished without a trace.

The situation surrounding the couple's disappearance has raised questions about whether foul play is involved or if it is merely coincidental. Local police have already visited the couple's last known residence, a three-sided farmhouse that had recently been the center of a family dispute. Reports indicate that the resident was allegedly facing eviction following a bitter inheritance conflict.

The public prosecutor's office is actively seeking witnesses who may have relevant information regarding the case. Authorities are particularly interested in any observations made in the vicinity that could be linked to the deaths. They are also appealing for assistance in identifying the two deceased individuals. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Dresden police at the designated phone number.
