A peculiar incident unfolded in Kirchheim unter Teck, Baden-Württemberg, when a tiny deer, identified as a Muntjak, was discovered wandering through a private garden. The unusual sighting prompted the homeowners to document the animal with their smartphones before notifying local authorities.

The Muntjak, a species native to regions such as China, India, Thailand, Myanmar, and Indonesia, was spotted in a backyard, curiously inspecting a bird feeder. This led to a swift response from law enforcement, as residents on Lenninger Straße reported seeing the animal, which bore a resemblance to a small deer.

Upon arrival, police officers expressed surprise at the sight of the unfamiliar creature and called in a veterinarian from the district office for assistance. The veterinarian arrived equipped with a tranquilizer dart gun to safely sedate the Muntjak.

After successfully administering the tranquilizer, the Muntjak was carefully placed into a cat transport box for safe transport. It was subsequently taken to the Tripsdrill amusement park in Cleebronn, where it is expected to be integrated into an existing herd of Muntjaks.

As of now, the origins of the Muntjak remain unclear, and local authorities are investigating how the animal ended up in a suburban garden. The presence of this exotic species in the area has raised questions among wildlife experts and residents alike.

At Tripsdrill, the Muntjak will join several others of its kind, where they are known to interact closely with park visitors, sometimes feeding directly from their hands. This incident highlights not only the unexpected encounters with wildlife that can occur but also the responsibilities involved in ensuring such animals are returned safely to appropriate environments.
