New Regional Association Established in Brussels

Fri 28th Mar, 2025

Pharma Deutschland has announced the establishment of its new regional association in Brussels. This initiative aims to serve as a central hub for member companies seeking improved access to European political matters. Stefan Koch, the CEO of MCM Klosterfrau Vertriebsgesellschaft, has been appointed as the chairperson of this newly formed association.

Dorothee Brakmann, the Chief Executive Officer of Pharma Deutschland, emphasized that this new association will not replace the systematic monitoring of European pharmaceutical issues nor the close networking of Pharma Deutschland within the European association landscape. She stated, "Given the significance of European politics for the German pharmaceutical industry, it was logical to provide our companies with a central point of contact for European political issues and inquiries."

Brakmann also highlighted that the Brussels association is not solely a service for members; through active engagement with them on-site, Pharma Deutschland can gather accurate information on how EU decisions impact the industry in Germany.

Stefan Koch, the chairperson of the Brussels association, noted that the new entity provides substantial advantages, particularly for pharmaceutical companies without a local presence in Brussels. He invites member companies to engage directly on-site to gain firsthand insights into pharmaceutical-related topics. The Brussels association affords Pharma Deutschland members the opportunity to participate actively in the decision-making processes at the European level.
