Munich - A serious workplace accident occurred on a construction site in Munich on Tuesday, resulting in severe injuries to two workers, both aged 61. The men fell seven meters into an elevator shaft while attempting to install an external lift.
The incident took place on Heiglstraße, where the workers were engaged in the construction of the lift. Following the fall, both individuals remained on the ground, injured but conscious. Their colleagues promptly called emergency services for assistance.
The response from emergency services was swift, with firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the scene. To safely extract the injured workers, rescue boards were utilized. Subsequently, the two men were transported to various hospitals in Munich for urgent medical care.
The police have begun an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident, focusing on safety protocols and potential violations that may have contributed to the incident.
