Ahlen, North Rhine-Westphalia - A large fire broke out in an industrial area, engulfing a bucket manufacturing facility. Fire crews have been battling the flames since Wednesday evening, working tirelessly to prevent further spread. The factory has been nearly completely destroyed, and the glow of the fire was visible from as far as twenty kilometers away.

Witnesses reported that flames shot high into the night sky. Authorities cordoned off the industrial zone to ensure public safety. According to a police spokesperson, the facility was still standing when they first arrived, but the situation escalated rapidly.

The first alarm was raised around 10:15 PM when an employee of the factory reported the fire on the premises. Fire and police units responded quickly, and upon arrival, it became apparent that additional support was needed. The control center subsequently dispatched fire departments from neighboring towns.

Approximately 150 firefighters from various municipalities were engaged in the efforts to control the blaze. By 12:55 AM, six additional firefighting units were on site, underscoring the scale of the emergency response. A spokesperson from the Ahlen fire department confirmed the substantial number of responders involved.

To keep the public informed, the local population received alerts via the Nina warning app, advising them of potential smoke and odor disturbances. Residents were urged to close their windows and doors and avoid the area. Despite these warnings, many onlookers gathered to witness the incident, prompting police to manage the crowd for the safety of both the public and the emergency services.

As the fire progressed, it spread to a nearby roofing materials company around midnight. Firefighters faced significant challenges due to the large volume of plastic containers present, which contributed to the rapid escalation of the flames. Despite extensive water usage, efforts to contain the fire were hampered, leading to the involvement of additional facilities.

Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries as a result of the incident, and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing. This is not the first significant fire in the area; just three days prior, emergency services responded to a fire at a local auto repair shop.
