Langenfeld Experiences Spike in Vehicle Theft with Two Audi Q5s Stolen

In Langenfeld, a concerning incident of vehicle theft occurred on the night of February 15, 2025, involving two Audi Q5 SUVs. The first theft was reported by a 56-year-old resident who had parked his black Audi Q5, approximately seven years old, in a garage entrance near Talstraße on the evening prior around 10 PM. Upon checking his vehicle at around 11:25 AM the next day, he discovered it was missing.

In a related incident, another Audi Q5, this one a gray model owned by a 44-year-old Langenfeld resident and eight years old, was stolen shortly after at approximately 3:15 AM, also in the vicinity of Talstraße. Both vehicle owners promptly contacted the authorities, and the police initiated a search operation for the stolen cars. However, initial efforts to locate the vehicles have not yielded any results.

The investigation into the methods used to steal these vehicles is currently ongoing. Both Audis, which bear Mettmann license plates (ME), are valued at around EUR40,000 each. As of now, law enforcement has not received any specific information regarding the suspects involved or the fate of the stolen vehicles.

In response to these thefts, two separate criminal proceedings have been initiated, and additional investigative measures are underway. The stolen vehicles have been entered into an international database for tracking. The police are appealing to the public for assistance and are encouraging anyone who has seen suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area, or who may have information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen cars, to reach out.
