Tue 11th Mar, 2025

Kassel - A 25-year-old man suspected of drug dealing was apprehended on Monday afternoon in central Kassel after attempting to evade law enforcement. At approximately 12:40 PM, undercover officers from the unit dedicated to combating street and drug-related crime observed a man acting suspiciously. The individual appeared to be concealing illegal substances near a bench on Untere Königsstraße.

As he left the area and proceeded towards Kurt-Schumacher-Straße, he noticed the police presence and immediately fled. However, the swift response of the officers led to his capture shortly thereafter. Upon searching the alleged drug stash, the police uncovered four packages of cocaine, 15 bags of marijuana, and 14 packages of hashish.

The suspect, a resident of Kassel and an Afghan national, faces serious allegations concerning the illegal trade of cocaine and cannabis. In light of the compelling evidence, investigators executed a search warrant at his residence. During this search, they fortuitously discovered an electric scooter that had been reported stolen following a break-in in Niestetal in February 2024.

This arrest has now raised additional charges against the 25-year-old, encompassing both drug trafficking and burglary. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of his activities and any possible accomplices.
