Vance's message came shortly after learning of the Pope's death, emphasizing his sorrow for the millions of believers who cherished the late pontiff.

'I have just learned of the death of Pope Francis. My deepest condolences go out to the millions of Christians worldwide who loved him. I was pleased to see him yesterday, although he was clearly very unwell. May God grant him peace,' Vance conveyed.
