Authorities in Berlin are investigating a troubling incident that occurred on Thursday in the Marzahn district, where two men allegedly engaged in racially charged behavior towards four young girls. The girls, aged twelve, were reportedly subjected to derogatory remarks while outside a shopping center.

According to police reports, the incident took place around 4 PM, prompting two women to alert law enforcement after witnessing the unsettling event. The men are accused of mimicking monkey sounds and shouting phrases such as 'foreigners out' at the girls, an act perceived as racially offensive.

Accompanying the men were a teenager and a young boy. Eyewitnesses noted that one bystander attempted to intervene by asking the men to cease their behavior. However, the group subsequently fled into the shopping center, evading identification.

The state protection unit of the Landeskriminalamt (State Criminal Police Office) has taken over the investigation, highlighting the seriousness with which authorities are treating the matter. The incidents of racial harassment are being closely monitored as part of broader efforts to address hate crimes within the community.

Local residents have expressed outrage over the incident, reiterating the importance of fostering an inclusive environment for all individuals, regardless of their background. Community leaders are calling for heightened awareness and vigilance against such acts of discrimination.

This incident marks a concerning trend of racial incidents reported in urban areas, prompting discussions on the need for community engagement and educational initiatives to combat racism and xenophobia.
