Gipsy Kings: "Music Is a Natural Way of Life"

An explosion occurred in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district of Berlin during the early hours of Friday, resulting in significant damage to multiple vehicles at an automotive repair facility. According to police reports, an unidentified individual threw an object over the perimeter fence of the workshop located on Kleinmachnower Weg at approximately 3:00 a.m. The object detonated upon landing, causing damage to a total of 14 vehicles parked on the premises.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The Berlin State Criminal Police Office (LKA) immediately dispatched a specialized explosives unit to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. At this stage, authorities have not yet determined the exact nature of the device used in the explosion. Investigators are examining the remnants of the object in order to identify its composition and origin.
The incident has prompted heightened security and investigative measures in the area. Police cordoned off the vicinity of the workshop to allow forensic experts to collect evidence and ensure public safety. Residents and nearby businesses were informed of the situation, but there was no need for evacuation as the explosion did not pose a further threat.
This event follows a similar attack that occurred earlier in the week in the Wedding district of Berlin. On Monday, a late-night retail shop (Spätkauf) was targeted by an explosive device, believed by law enforcement to possibly have been a hand grenade. That detonation caused damage to several parked vehicles and the building's façade. Berlin police are investigating both incidents and have not ruled out a connection between them, though no official link has been established at this time.
Authorities have increased patrols in affected districts and are encouraging witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from the area around the auto workshop in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, as well as from the previous incident in Wedding, in an effort to identify potential suspects or vehicles associated with the explosions.
Berlin's police have also called on local repair shops and retail businesses to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or objects found on their premises. The LKA's explosives experts are working in close coordination with other investigative units to analyze the materials involved in both incidents and to determine whether the methods used suggest a pattern or common perpetrator.
As the investigation continues, there has been no official statement regarding motives behind the attacks. Police have not disclosed any details about possible suspects, and no group or individual has claimed responsibility. Security officials are collaborating with federal agencies to assess whether the incidents may be linked to broader criminal or extremist activity, but at present, all scenarios remain under consideration.
The events have raised concerns among local residents and business owners about safety and the potential for further attacks. The Berlin police have reassured the public that every effort is being made to identify those responsible and to prevent similar incidents in the future. The investigation remains ongoing, with updates expected as more information becomes available from forensic analysis and witness statements.
