Injuries Reported in Apartment Fire in Kassel

Kassel - An apartment fire in a multi-family residence on Gartenstraße prompted a swift response from emergency services early Thursday morning. A 50-year-old resident of the ground-floor unit sustained burns to his hand and experienced mild smoke inhalation while attempting to extinguish the flames. Emergency personnel transported him to the hospital for treatment, while the other occupants of the building were unharmed.

The fire primarily caused damage to the furnishings within the apartment, with significant soot accumulation observed. Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that the blaze may have been accidentally ignited, although no definitive evidence pointing to an alternative cause has been identified at this time.
