IAA Mobility 2025 Attracts Over Half a Million Visitors

The IAA Mobility 2025, held in Munich, concluded with a remarkable attendance, surpassing 500,000 visitors. Organizers reported that this year's event exceeded the previous edition held in 2023, signaling a positive trend in visitor engagement.

From September 9 to 14, nearly 750 exhibitors from 73 countries showcased their latest innovations at the renowned automotive fair. The spotlight was particularly on new electric vehicle models from German manufacturers, alongside a record participation of competitors from China. Discussions at the event also revolved around the current challenging economic climate and the European Union's decision to phase out combustion engines.

However, the event was not without its controversies, as it was marked by protests and demonstrations from environmental organizations and climate activists. On Saturday, hundreds of individuals participated in a march through the streets of Munich, expressing concerns that the fair represents a future dominated by more SUVs, increased urban development, and profit motives that come at the expense of both people and the environment. The Bund Naturschutz and Verkehrsclub Deutschland, two organizing bodies behind the protests, voiced their criticisms of the event.

Since relocating from Frankfurt to Munich in 2021, the IAA has established a biennial schedule. The organizers hailed the success of this year's exhibition, highlighting the impressive visitor turnout as evidence of the event's strong reception. They also announced that the next three iterations of the IAA, scheduled to take place through to 2031, will continue to be hosted in Munich.
