Berlin - In a significant turn of events, Jessica Brösche, a 29-year-old tattoo artist from Berlin, is set to return to Germany after spending six weeks in a US immigration detention facility. Her mother, Birgit Brösche, confirmed that Jessica is expected to arrive back home today.

Since January 25, Jessica had been held at the CoreCivic Otay Mesa Detention Center in San Diego, a private facility often criticized for its poor conditions. The tattoo artist had entered the United States on foot from Mexico, possessing the necessary electronic travel authorization (ESTA). However, her situation took a dire turn when authorities detained her due to the presence of tattoo equipment in her luggage, leading to allegations of misusing her tourist visa for potential employment.

Jessica, along with her friend Amalia Lofving, is known for her work as a tattoo artist. The pair had planned a visit, but Jessica's brief crossing into the US escalated into a lengthy detention. Describing the conditions of her confinement, Lofving stated that Jessica felt as if she were living in a horror movie, with constant chaos and distress reported from within the facility. Jessica reportedly experienced intense psychological strain, leading to troubling behavior during her solitary confinement.

Despite the harrowing circumstances, it appears that Jessica's long-awaited wish to return home is finally within reach. In a recent conversation, she expressed her desire to leave the detention center and reunite with her family. Her mother remains cautiously optimistic, stating she will believe her daughter is truly free once they are together again.

As Jessica prepares for her flight back to Germany, details regarding her arrival remain undisclosed. However, her family is poised to welcome her home, marking the end of a challenging ordeal that has garnered attention in the media.
