The prestigious ISTAF Berlin athletics meeting is set to showcase a formidable lineup of German athletes this year. Scheduled for July 27, the event will feature some of the nation's elite competitors, as confirmed by the organizers.

Among the notable participants are Malaika Mihambo, the Olympic gold medalist in the long jump, sprinter Gina Lückenkemper, steeplechaser Gesa Krause, and javelin thrower Julian Weber. The competition will take place at the iconic Olympic Stadium, where these athletes are expected to deliver outstanding performances.

This year, the ISTAF takes place earlier than usual, strategically positioned as part of the athletes' preparation for upcoming season highlights. The German National Championships will occur the following weekend in Dresden, followed by the World Championships in Tokyo, scheduled for September 13 to 21. Lückenkemper, who recently earned a bronze medal in the 4x100-meter relay at the Paris Olympics, has assured fans that the athletes will be in peak condition for the ISTAF.

The event will include over a dozen events, with a notable change in the steeplechase event. For the first time, Krause will compete in a 2,000-meter steeplechase, deviating from the traditional 3,000 meters.

The anticipation surrounding this year's ISTAF is palpable, with fans eager to witness top-tier athletic performances in the lead-up to crucial competitions. The combination of an early date and a robust lineup promises an exciting day of athletics in Berlin.
