The Geiselwind Amusement Park, located in the Kitzingen district of Bavaria, has announced a postponement of its season opening, now set for April 12, instead of the originally planned date of March 29. This decision comes in the wake of a fire that broke out on the park's premises on March 17, resulting in damages estimated at around one million euros.
Despite the unfortunate circumstances, park operators reported that the damage to the park infrastructure itself was relatively minor. However, significant impact was noted in the preparation kitchen and portions of the electrical and network systems, necessitating extended repair times beyond initial expectations.
The fire is believed to have originated in the kitchen area of one of the park's restaurants. Authorities have indicated that there is no evidence suggesting arson or any involvement of third parties in the incident.
As the park prepares for its delayed opening, measures are being taken to ensure that all necessary repairs are completed, allowing for a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors. The operators are committed to maintaining high safety standards and are optimistic about welcoming guests to the park once the repairs are finalized.
