Zwischen Licht-und Schatten
On March 9, 2024, the Blasorchester München (boMUC) was officially founded at the Alten Wirt in Moosach. This initiative, led by Florian Kruse, brought together around 30 dedicated musicians who were interested in establishing a symphonic wind orchestra. Following a rigorous rehearsal period, boMUC debuted with its premiere concert 'Aufbruch' in November 2023 at the Stephanuskirche in Neuhausen. 'It was a spectacular start,' recalls Kruse, who has been the musical director since the project's inception. 'We performed to a full house, and the audience was thrilled,' he adds. With such enthusiasm and positive feedback, the establishment of the association was planned for 2024. During a rehearsal weekend, 19 founding members, nearly all of whom have been with the orchestra since its inception, adopted the association's statutes. Henning Kühl was elected as the chairman, with Sarah Feigl as his deputy. Other board positions include Florian Kruse (conductor), Antonia Waldner (treasurer), and Dominik Wiedenmann (secretary), with Simon Deimel serving as the press officer. 'We aim to create a new standard for symphonic concert wind music in Munich,' Kühl states. 'While there are many traditional wind music clubs and purely symphonic orchestras, we represent a novel contribution to the cultural landscape of the city.' With the establishment of the association, the musicians have made significant progress toward this goal. The next concert is already approaching.
