W. A. Mozart ''Don Giovanni''
The fascination with the titular character of Mozart and da Ponte's masterpiece 'Don Giovanni', first performed in 1787, remains unbroken for over 200 years. The director Doris Sophia Heinrichsen explores the consequences of Don Giovanni's actions--such as rape and murder--on the other characters in this year's 'Musiktheater im Reaktor' production.
With more than twenty voice students, in collaboration with the University Symphony Orchestra and conducting students from HMTM, she examines the dimensions of perpetrator-victim relationships, co-dependencies, and power abuse structures in Mozart's late work. The roles will be cast differently at various performances to provide all voice students with the opportunity for this crucial stage practice.
