Tanzwerkstatt Europa
Since 1991, JOINT ADVENTURES has partnered with the Cultural Department of the City of Munich to host the TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA. This workshop serves as a platform for new ideas and aesthetics, providing significant impulses in contemporary dance and performance art. With a diverse offering of dance workshops and Choreographic Labs, it has become a hotspot for the international contemporary dance scene, transforming Munich into a key meeting point for dance professionals and amateurs from around the world for 11 days.
The next edition of TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA will take place from August 5 to August 15, 2025 in Munich.
Performances
The TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA showcases the latest works from key pioneers and trailblazers in contemporary dance each evening, featuring pieces by artists such as Aurora Bauzà & Pere Jou, Ian Kaler, Moritz Ostruschnjak, Hannah Schillinger, Jefta van Dinther, and Ultima Vez / Wim Vandekeybus. Newcomers are also invited to present their choreographies, providing the audience with the opportunity to experience current practices and forms of contemporary dance at a high international level across various stages in the city.
Workshops for Professionals & Amateurs
The workshops at TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA allow participants to experience the full diversity of contemporary dance. Professionals can expand their personal movement repertoire and work intensively with renowned (inter)national choreographers, while dance-interested amateurs can try new styles, learn choreographies, or focus on their fitness. Beginners will find numerous opportunities to discover their passion for movement. Regardless of background, physical abilities, or age, TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA has something to offer everyone.
