After gaining attention with their debut album, the band has partnered with the international [PIAS] network to release their new single "Leave The Light On." Alongside this, they have announced their upcoming 6-track EP titled "Modern Roses," set to launch on April 25 through [PIAS] Germany.

This new collection of songs explores affection and the small gestures we make to bridge distances between us, even if just for a moment. It also delves into the beautiful ways we fail--loneliness, longing, miscommunication, and the feelings of leaving and being left behind. The EP is filled with deep, vibrant, and psychedelic sounds that oscillate between melancholy and ecstasy.

Soft Loft creates music that breaks your shell, reinterpreting the broken and devastated, and compelling you to fall head over heels for your fallibility and humanity. They describe their style as "Indie-something-something," crafting songs that feel like intimate late-night conversations among close friends. This EP is a testament to a band that has found its voice, addressing significant yet often unspoken topics.

The single "Leave The Light On" reflects on the small things people leave behind when they depart, making it hard to move on. Jorina Stamm, the lead vocalist, explains that the light never truly goes out, and they keep gravitating towards each other, albeit not in a positive way. There's always a little water left in the kettle, keeping it simmering. It's a thin line between something good and something one wishes to never return to.

The EP title is inspired by a line from their song 'Paper Plane,' which states: 'modern roses are paper planes.' In 2025, one can be a bit more creative--imagine folding a paper airplane for someone to express your feelings for them.

The material was crafted in the band's secret hideout--a cozy house with a magical garden in Barico, Ticino. Recorded in a decommissioned hotel on the outskirts of Dresden, the band self-produced the project with their trusted sound engineer. They spent days experimenting with arrangements and sound design, seeking a deeper connection with one another, which is why the vibe here is so unique and layered.

Soft Loft is a hidden gem in the scene, but it wouldn't be surprising if they opened for Taylor Swift one day. In 2023, they released the EP "In Case You Still Get Lonely" independently, followed by their debut album "The Party and the Mess" a year later, both produced by Grammy-nominated Gianluca Buccellati, known for his work with Lana Del Rey and Arlo Parks. In no time, the band performed their own shows in London, Paris, and Berlin, as well as at esteemed festivals like The Great Escape, Reeperbahn Festival, MS Dockville, Maifeld Derby, and Montreux Jazz Festival.
