Simon Lässig und Vera Lutz: Romeo's eyes
In their first institutional exhibition, Simon Lässig and Vera Lutz present newly conceived filmic, photographic, and installation works that engage with the politics of seeing and showing. The focus is on their long-standing dialogical collaboration, which began in Munich in 2015.
Lutz often develops her works in dialogue with the exhibition space, exploring how art reflects itself and the rules or structures that shape our perception of images. Lässig works with historical film material, investigating how our way of seeing is influenced by repetition, imitation, and cultural factors.
Accompanying program includes a lecture by poet, translator, and literary scholar Jennifer Scappettone (date to be announced).
Film screening of 'Lunch Break' by Sharon Lockhart on Sunday, July 20, at 18:00, Theatiner Filmkunst.
Opening on Friday, May 9, from 19:00 (running until August 17).
