Karl Theodors Münchner Komponistinnen
Bayerisches Nationalmuseum
Join us for a delightful matinée celebrating the works of the renowned composer Karl Theodor's Munich-based women composers. In 1781, the music lover Kurfürst Karl Theodor summoned Jean Louis II. Dulcken, a distinguished piano maker from a notable Dutch family, to Munich. Dulcken married the talented pianist and composer Sophie Lebrun, who was the daughter of opera singer and composer Franziska Danzi-Lebrun, a prominent figure at Karl Theodor's Mannheim court orchestra. Together, these celebrated musicians crafted numerous piano songs, a genre that gained immense popularity during the Romantic era. Experience the enchanting performance as the pianist and soprano Paula Bär-Giese accompanies herself on an original hammer piano created by Jean Louis Dulcken, immersing you in the romantic sounds of the time.Bayerisches Nationalmuseum
