Puchheimer Jugendkammerorchester
Join us for a refreshing Mother's Day concert by the Puchheimer Youth Chamber Orchestra (PJKO) on Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00. This award-winning string orchestra is known for its youthful energy, dynamism, and passion. The PJKO has achieved remarkable success, having won first place in the youth chamber orchestras category at the German Orchestra Competition (DOW) in June 2025. They were also honored with the Bavarian State Prize for Music in 2015 and the Tassilo Prize from the Süddeutsche Zeitung in 2002.
With a rich tradition since its founding in 1993, the PJKO is considered one of the most prestigious youth chamber orchestras in Germany. The orchestra mainly consists of talented students from the PJKO String Academy, led by Peter Michielsen and his wife, Simone Burger-Michielsen, who focus on nurturing gifted young string players.
Conducted by Peter Michielsen, the concert will feature violin soloist Anton Carus, a student in Professor Julia Fischer's class, performing works by Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, and others.
