Mulo Francel & Cairo Steps
On Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 19:30 to 22:00, the renowned saxophonist Mulo Francel presents the ensemble Cairo Steps in an open-air concert at the park of the Ebenböckhaus. This Cairo-based band blends traditional Egyptian and oriental rhythms with modern improvisation, classical music, and contemporary sounds. Their inspirations include both ethnic and spiritual musical traditions, such as the Sufi tradition, as well as European styles. The music alternates between strong unison rhythms, virtuosic solos, and meditative soundscapes, resulting in a captivating mix of diverse cultures.
Cairo Steps has performed at numerous venues in Egypt, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Belgium, and Germany, and has been awarded the "German Jazz Gold Award" in collaboration with Mulo Francels band Quadro Nuevo. The ensemble aims to transcend cultural, political, and religious boundaries, building bridges between the West and the East.
