Olympiapark München

In the exhibition KÖRPERWELTEN - Am Puls der Zeit, curator Dr. Angelina Whalley showcases the human body in various facets, illustrating both its immense potential and its vulnerabilities in response to the challenges of the 21st century. The theme 'Am Puls der Zeit' reflects on the pace of modern life and its effects on our bodies and health. Dr. Whalley emphasizes that our bodies are mirrors of our lifestyle choices: everything we do or neglect--whether we stay physically active, how we eat, the stress we endure, or the healthiness of our social surroundings--affects us positively or negatively. Beyond insights into nutrition, exercise, and immune system strengthening, the exhibition elaborates on how to achieve a healthy and long life in contemporary society.

KÖRPERWELTEN transforms the way we view ourselves and our lifestyles. Over 56 million people worldwide have embarked on this journey of self-discovery. Visitors will explore the human skeleton, the interplay of muscles, and development in the womb, gaining a detailed understanding of their inner workings. The exhibit features numerous authentic human specimens, including impressive full-body plastinates, partial plastinates, transparent body slices, and individual organs, offering an in-depth look at human anatomy and physiology while clearly explaining bodily functions and common lifestyle-related diseases and their origins.
