KÖRPERWELTEN | München | Zeitfensterticket
In the exhibition KÖRPERWELTEN - At the Pulse of Time, curator Dr. Angelina Whalley presents the human body in various dimensions, highlighting its immense potential as well as its vulnerabilities in facing the challenges of the 21st century. The theme 'At the Pulse of Time' serves as a reflection on the pace of modern life and its impact on our bodies and health. Dr. Whalley aims to convey that our bodies mirror our lifestyles, as everything we do--or fail to do--such as our physical activity, dietary choices, stress levels, and the quality of our social and familial environments, influences our well-being, both positively and negatively.
Beyond insights into nutrition, exercise, and immune system enhancement, the exhibition illustrates how one can achieve a healthy and long life in today's world. KÖRPERWELTEN transforms the way we view ourselves and our lifestyles, having already engaged over 56 million visitors worldwide in this journey of self-discovery. Starting from the human skeleton to the interplay of muscles and fetal development, visitors receive a detailed depiction of their internal structure.
A variety of authentic human specimens, including striking full-body plastinates, partial plastinates, transparent body slices, and individual organs provide a comprehensive glimpse into the anatomy and physiology of the human body, explaining bodily and organ functions as well as common civilization-related diseases and their origins.
