Körperwelten - Am Puls der Zeit
From April 11, 2025, the plastinator Dr. Gunther von Hagens and curator Dr. Angelina Whalley will present their latest exhibition, "Körperwelten München - Am Puls der Zeit," at the Kleine Olympiahalle in Munich. This exhibition marks the return of the world's most successful anatomical showcase, which previously captivated audiences in 2003 and 2014.
In "Körperwelten - Am Puls der Zeit," curator Dr. Angelina Whalley explores the human body in various dimensions, highlighting its vulnerabilities and potentials in the face of 21st-century challenges. The exhibition invites visitors to critically examine the constant sensory overload of modern life and its long-term impacts on both body and mind. Dr. Whalley aims to encourage individuals to take responsibility for their health, offering insights into nutrition, exercise, and immune system enhancement, while showcasing how one can achieve a healthy and long life in today's world.
Körperwelten is an exhibition that fundamentally alters our perspective on ourselves and our lifestyles. Over 56 million people globally have embarked on this journey of self-discovery through the human body. The fascinating real human specimens, including numerous full-body plastinates, provide profound insights into the complex structure of our inner selves, explaining the functions and interactions of body systems and organs, as well as common diseases and their origins.
The plastinates displayed in this exhibition come from the body donation program of the Institute for Plastination in Heidelberg, which has over 21,000 registered individuals.
