Henschel-Quartett & Hendrik Blumenroth
Join us for an extraordinary evening of classical music on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 19:00 to 21:30 at Schloss Seefeld Sudhaus. Experience a captivating performance by members of the internationally celebrated Henschel Quartet--Christoph Henschel and Gertrud Schilde on violins, Monika Henschel on viola, along with cellists Hendrik Blumenroth and Emil Bekir.
This concert features a thrilling program that bridges the past and the present. The evening includes the world premiere of Dorothee Eberhardt's String Quintet (2023), a reworked composition that promises a blend of rhythmic energy and mysterious allure. The quintet, featuring two violins, a viola, and two cellos, promises to create a modern soundscape that resonates deeply with its audience.
Additionally, we will hear Beethoven's String Quartet No. 1 in F Major, Op. 18, 1, which showcases the distinct musical language that sets Beethoven apart from his predecessors, Haydn and Mozart. The concert will culminate with Schubert's String Quintet in D Major, D 956, a profound work composed shortly before his death in 1828, noted for its rich sound brought forth by the unique inclusion of two cellos.
