At the original sites where Bavarian rulers hosted music legends, today's top musicians bring timeless masterpieces to life. Enjoy performances in the Residenz (Hofkapelle, Cuvilliéstheater, Kaisersaal, Herkulessaal, Allerheiligen Hofkirche) and other castles around Munich (Dachau, Schleißheim, Nymphenburg).

The Münchner Residenzsolisten, along with members of the Münchner Philharmoniker, will deliver exceptional concert experiences featuring gems of classical music.

The New Palace Schleißheim, with its stunning baroque garden, was commissioned by Elector Max Emanuel in 1701, inspired by Versailles, in hopes of gaining the imperial dignity. The lavish interior was designed by notable artists such as Johann Baptist Zimmermann, Cosmas Damian Asam, and Jacopo Amigoni. The Bavarian State Painting Collections present masterpieces of European Baroque painting in the gallery rooms. The garden, designed by Dominique Girard, remains largely intact in its baroque style.

Richard Strauss rightly called Franz Schubert's 'Unfinished' Symphony the beginning of the Romantic symphony. Despite the missing scherzo and finale, we admire the beauty of this masterpiece as we would an incomplete ancient statue. Antonin Dvorák spent over two years in New York as director of the national conservatory. His famous 9th Symphony 'From the New World' from 1893 brings together the folk music of his Czech homeland and elements of American spirituals into a harmonious synthesis.
