Magical Adventure for Children Aged Six and Above
Since 2013, Margit Auer has been chronicling the many adventures that Ida and her classmates experience with their magical animals at Winterstein School. Thirteen volumes have been published so far, three of which have been adapted into films. Following the success of the first part, 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere - Voller Löcher!' (The School of Magical Animals - Full of Holes!) is set to be staged by the Junge Theater Bonn for children aged six and up in Munich.

Holes in the Schoolyard
It's time for the students of Miss Cornfield's class at Winterstein School to take the stage, as they plan to perform a play, specifically Robin Hood. Helene and Anna-Lena both long for the lead role, while Schoki, much to his dismay, is now receiving daily acting lessons from his grandfather. More than the play itself, Ida is excited about her best friend Miriam visiting for a few weeks and wanting to join her at school. Before Ida moved, they were inseparable and shared every secret. Can Ida keep the secret of the magical animals from Miriam? Unlikely... But what will Miss Cornfield think if she breaks her vow? However, the teacher has other worries: who on earth is digging countless holes on the school grounds at night? The entire school is baffled. If this continues, the auditorium will have to be closed, and the play cannot take place...

Ensemble of Children and Adults
Tristan Berger has created a second, equally captivating and magical theater adventure from Margit Auer's books and Nina Dulleck's illustrations. Nick Westbrock, who directed the first play in 2021, will also bring 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere - Voller Löcher!' to the stage again. With a cast comprising children from the youth ensemble and professional actors in the roles of the adult characters, the play will once more be performed in Munich.

Margit Auer
Margit Auer was born in 1967 and spent her childhood and youth in Waldkraiburg. As a child, she dreamed of being a postwoman delivering letters on a yellow bicycle, but life took a different turn. She became a journalist, writing articles for various Bavarian newspapers. After the birth of her three sons, she read countless children's books and decided to write her own, even though she still finds joy in watching someone deliver the mail. In her bestselling series 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere,' Mr. Morrison does just that. Margit Auer has received several awards, including the Leipziger Lesekompass, the Leseknirps, and the Heidelberger Leander. From November 2019 to 2023, she also returned to journalism, writing a weekly column for the Familientrio in the Süddeutsche Zeitung addressing parenting questions.

The Junge Theater Bonn
With 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere - Voller Löcher!' we continue our successful collaboration with the Junge Theater Bonn, with which we have previously brought productions like 'Der Grüffelo,' 'Für Hund und Katz ist auch noch Platz,' and 'Die unendliche Geschichte' to our stage. The JTB is one of the most successful children's and youth theaters in Germany. A unique feature is that most roles in the performances are played by children and young people of appropriate age, who are carefully selected, professionally guided, and continuously supported.
