Die Schule der Magischen Tiere 2
Embark on a magical adventure for children aged six and above! Since 2013, Margit Auer has been enchanting readers with the adventures of Ida and her classmates at Wintersteinschule, where they experience thrilling escapades with their magical animals. To date, 13 volumes have been published, three of which have been adapted into films. Following the success of the first installment, 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere - Voller Löcher!' is being brought to Munich by the Young Theater Bonn, designed for young audiences.
In this story, the students of Miss Cornfield's class are excited to perform a play, specifically a rendition of Robin Hood. Helene and Anna-Lena both aspire to land the lead role, while Schoki reluctantly begins daily acting lessons from his grandfather. Ida, however, is most eager to reunite with her best friend Miriam, who is visiting and plans to attend school with her. Before Ida's move, they shared everything without secrets. Can she keep the secret of the magical animals from Miriam? Probably not... But what will Miss Cornfield think if she breaks her vow? Meanwhile, there are more pressing concerns as the school grapples with the mystery of who is digging countless holes on the school grounds at night. If this continues, the auditorium will have to be closed, jeopardizing the theater performance!
Tristan Berger has adapted Margit Auer's works, illustrated by Nina Dulleck, into another captivating theater adventure. Nick Westbrock, who directed the first piece in 2021, will also helm this second performance of 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere - Voller Löcher!' in Munich. Featuring a cast of both children from the youth ensemble and adults in the roles of the grown-up characters, this production is set to enchant audiences once more.
Margit Auer, born in 1967, grew up in Waldkraiburg. Initially aspiring to be a mail carrier, she later became a journalist, writing for various Bavarian newspapers. Inspired by reading numerous children's books to her three sons, she decided to write her own, despite still enjoying the idea of delivering mail. Her bestselling series, 'Die Schule der magischen Tiere', features Mr. Morrison as the mail carrier. Auer has received multiple awards, including the Leipziger Lesekompass and the Leseknirps. From November 2019 to 2023, she resumed her journalistic career as a weekly columnist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, addressing parenting questions.
